We have over 40 missions and ministries we support here at SUMC in one way or another.
Here is a partial list our church supports.
New Directions - SUMC feeds over 100 fellow Christians in Myrtle Beach on the 3rd Monday of each month. Contact Sharon Vining or Marcia Williamson for more information.
Salkehatchie - This is a mission within the United Methodist Ministries. You'll spend a week building, repairing, and improving not only someone's house but also the homeowner's life.
Operation Christmas Child - Each holiday season in October we start collecting shoe boxes filled with goodies to send off to children around the world. This mission is affiliated with Samaritans Purse.
Selah Dancers - A group of all ages that performs bible-based liturgical dances. They perform at various times of the year and spread "God's Love to All." Contact Sharon Beckham at 843-602-1517 for more information.

Epworth Children’s Home - It is a United Methodist Mission that assists children who have experienced abuse, neglect, or significant loss. It has been in existence for over 116 years and is supported by donations from churches all over the state. It provides food and shelter for the children, but more importantly it provides a campus pastor for spiritual direction for the children during their journey at Epworth.
South Strand Helping Hand - SUMC collects bags of groceries for the needy several times a year. To fill a bag or for more information contact Sharon Vining or Marcia Williamson.
Mobile Meals- Volunteers help deliver nutritious meals to the sick and homebound who are unable to prepare their own meals. A driver and van are provided by the organization.
